|Teeth in a Day
At Keith A. Boenning, DDS, we offer dental implant services that can completely restore the function and aesthetics of your smile. These full-arch restorations are a part of a revolutionary concept known as Teeth in a Day and provide you with fully functional teeth in a single procedure. This state-of-the-art and innovative treatment concept is designed specifically for those who are about to lose or have lost all of their upper or lower teeth. Teeth in a Day is very similar to the All-on-4 treatment concept, with the exception that is not limited to four dental implants.
Candidates for Teeth in a Day
The ideal candidate for Teeth in a day is missing all, or most of their teeth are in good oral and overall health and have a suitable amount of bone in the jaw. For patients with bone that is too thin or too soft, we offer advanced implant services. Bone regeneration, socket grafts, ridge augmentation, and platelet-rich plasma procedures can all be used to improve your bone structure and ensure your implant treatment is successful. Oral afflictions like gum disease also need to be remedied before you we move forward with Teeth in a Day.
Once we have determined you are a suitable candidate, we will develop an appropriate treatment plan. Dr. Keith A. Boenning will review the procedure, restoration options, and the healing process. Your treatment plan will reflect and meet your individual needs to provide you with a new and beautiful smile. We will use our advanced computerized 3D dental treatment software to deliver a minimally invasive surgery and superior restoration.
Teeth in a Day Procedure
Before the procedure begins, we will administer local anesthetic and some form of sedation to reduce anxiety and eliminate discomfort. Next, we will make an incision in the gum tissue and drill a small hole in the jawbone. This allows us to deeply embed each implant. The number of implants we place depends on your treatment plan. Most full-arch restorations require four to six implants. Once the implants are in place, we will immediately load your temporary restoration. As a result, patients can often resume their normal activities the next day.
Recovery times vary from patient to patient; however, most people need at least 6 to nine months to accommodate the process of osseointegration. Osseointegration is responsible for the strong bond between the implant and your jawbone. Once osseointegration is complete, we will remove the temporary and install your new permanent teeth.
Types of Implant-Supported Full Mouth Restorations
There are a few types of implant-supported fixed bridges for full mouth restoration. The most popular is zirconia teeth set in a pink sold zirconia base. If you choose All-on-4, the restoration will be supported by four implants thanks to the patented technique. The posterior implants are placed at a precise angle to maximize support and reduce the number of implants.
Other restorations include implant-supported overdentures and implant-supported dentures. Some patients also choose acrylic teeth that are also supported by a titanium framework. The titanium framework may be hidden under the acrylic or behind the teeth.
